“I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear.”
– Rosa Parks
I am a Career Coach for Human Resources (HR) professionals to start and grow their Human Resources career, so they can confidently and authentically be themselves while getting the salary and professional development they desire.
During the day, you can find me working as a Human Resources Business Partner for a global tech company. When I’m not doing that, you can find me recording and uploading YouTube videos to my YouTube Channel – Heyyy HR, watering my hydrangeas, writing blog posts that are packed with tools and resources to elevate your life, relaxing with my Shih-Tzu, Riley, or brunching with my small circle of folks.

Get your Human Resources Certification
(SHRM & HRCI)
Getting certified is one of the main ways to show other professionals that you are invested in your career. HRCI was the first to offer a certification for Human Resources professionals when Human Resources evolved from being known as personnel. Now, it has evolved from three main certifications, PHR, SPHR, & GPHR to a number of levels of certifications.
This expansion happened shortly after SHRM started offering certification for Human Resources professionals. Those certifications are narrowed down to two levels – SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP.
To save time from going through all of the study materials that they each offer, Heyyy HR has notes that streamlines all of that material, which allows you to dive right into studying.
I am known for my sister-girl YouTube videos that cover everything in Human Resources, my Geechie-girl IG stories and unique interviewing techniques while recruiting the best professionals across the globe.
People often refer to me as Timeka, unless they know me from my small hometown of McClellanville, South Carolina. Then, they call me “Meka”.
I love serving corporate Human Resources professionals or aspiring Human Resources professionals by showing that you can work in Human Resources and still be true to yourself.
Behind the scenes!
My YouTube channel was the start of it all! I found myself on the phone so many times helping other HR professionals, CEOs, managers, and past colleagues that I felt I wanted and needed that time back. On the flip side, I wanted to help others.
So, I figured, I’ll create a YouTube channel with all of the things that they call or email me about and I’ll respond with a link to the video that gives them all of their answers. The crazy thing is, not only did the folks I knew found the channel, but so did people across the United States and in so many other countries across the globe.
From the comments, it was obvious that this YouTube channel was only the beginning of Heyyy HR.
Not your “average” Human Resources
The things I am most passionate about in life are my family, close friends, being a life-time learner and breaking generational curses. One way you can break generational curses is to position yourself in your career where you are in demand and make more money.
Are you a…
- Human Resource Assistant
- Human Resource Coordinator
- Recruiter
- HR Specialist (i.e. Talent Acquisition, Benefits, etc.)
- HR Generalist
- HR Business Partner
If so, then perfect. I know you’ve been dreaming of the day that you can pass the HRCI or SHRM exam and put those powerful letters behind your name. The day that you can confidently apply to jobs knowing that you are an expert in your field.
