Most days you can find me recruiting for new hires in the tech industry, recording and uploading YouTube videos to my YouTube Channel – Heyyy HR, creating professional development tools for my down-to-earth corporate professionals, finding ways to live in the moment with my daughter, relaxing with my Shih-Tzu (Riley) or brunching & drinking mimosas with my small circle of folks.

I am known for my sister-girl YouTube videos about Human Resources, my everyday-life IG stories or unique interview techniques while recruiting the best professionals across the globe. People often refer to me as Timeka, unless they grew up with me in my small town of McClellanville, South Carolina; then, they call me “Meka”.

How I help others:

I am a career coach who helps Human Resources (HR) professionals to start and grow their Human Resources career, so they can confidently and authentically be themselves in the corporate workplace.

I love serving others by showing that you can work in Human Resources and still be yourself. The things I am most passionate about are my close-knit family, close friends, being a life-time learner and breaking generational curses by passing limits to reach my definition of success. Now that I’m an empty-nester, I have the time to think of creative ways to get others started and growing in the career they want.

I love Human Resources, but there’s a balance:

When I’m not busy working on all things Human Resources for Heyyy HR or remotely from my home office as a full-time Human Resources Professional, you can catch me watching reality tv, planning trips with my “best” cousin, spending time with my niece and nephews or catching up with my girlfriends.

I’m a southern girl, so making shrimp and grits on Saturday morning is a regular. After 8 years of driving 45 minutes to my country roots, being the Finance Person for my AME Church and singing on the gospel choir, COVID created a break I didn’t know I needed. Fridays is my home cleaning routine day and on Sundays, catching church service online is my new thing!

I became a mother at 20 years old while being a full-time college student
I’m a survivor of domestic violence
My father passed when I was 9 years old from cancer
I used to get in trouble in school for being talkative, now I make money from it
